The pens are really designed to do full color gradations in smaller areas around 1- 1.5 inches in size, that is when they give a really nice transition of color with one fuse.
For slightly bigger areas I suggest giving it a good long fuse (about 35 seconds).
If you want to color a much larger area like for a sky, one alternative is to go with the solid sky blue unfused (in a larger like area 3 or 4 inches).
If you are looking for a much lighter blue for a large area than what we have in the line then we suggest you use one of your other alcohol pens in the exact color you want. You can even blend Chameleon Pens with your existing alcohol pens as they work brilliantly with any other brands
Chameleon Color Tones Pens are a little different than the traditional markers you may be using to but once you get the hang of them you will see that they work wonderfully for simple one pen blends for a lot of your coloring needs.
The 20 colors do cover a lot of the color spectrum and we will be adding more in the future so stay tuned!
As with any new art medium it does take a bit of practice and has a small learning curve but once you get it you will love it! We are working hard to get up as many how-to videos as we can to help that learning curve!
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions and stay tuned as we will be adding more and more how to videos every week!
