The nibs are not dry they just have a slower ink flow than other pens you may have used before. This flow is essential to the pens ability to create multiple Color tones.

Our nibs are made of a less porous fiber that is specially designed to evenly absorb and release the inks for greater color fusion -taking in the toning medium and

longer longer smoother blends -releasing the color transition evenly on paper. If you lay the color down a bit slower it will feel more fluid and you will get perfect coverage every time,  in fact once you get used to this flow you will find it actually give you more control and less chance bleeding! It is also important to note the the coloring experience will vary depending on types and textures of paper. (see our FAQ on best papers to use with Chameleon Pens)
